Long ago, it was the story of King Arthur and his Camelot that first drew me to the power of mythology to inform my life. Over many years now, I have noted how the characters of the tale have changed with our culture.
Especially Guinevere. Personally, Guinevere’s growing has been particularly meaningful to me. Recently, I have felt she has much more to tell me about the mystery and majesty of maidenhood.
As with all my major series, literature plays an important part in my imaging. The poetry and prose of Rainer Maria Rilke, John O’Donahue, Shakespeare, Ralph Waldo Emerson and even Plato have all inspired me.
Part I is the mystical beauty of innocence. Part II is the magic of transformation.
